The first thing that popped into my head when I read the theme was Fire Emblem, for obvious reasons. At first I thought it’d be cool to do some character’s overworld sprites because they look simple but still really cool (might be a future project) but decided against it. I then decided to go for the actual Fire Emblem from Awakening because it was my first FE game and the only fire emblem design I’m most familiar with. This came out pretty well!
